New Computer Home Setup in San Marcos, TX

Got a new computer and want help getting everything set up correctly? San Marcos Computers provides in-home new computer setup throughout San Marcos and surrounding Central Texas communities.

We come to your home and set up your new desktop or laptop where you will actually be using it. We can configure Windows, connect your peripherals, and help make sure your new computer is ready to use.

What's Included?

Our new computer home setup service can include:

Setting up your new desktop or laptop
Initial Windows configuration
Connecting your monitor, keyboard, mouse and other peripherals
Connecting your computer to your home Wi-Fi or network
Installing available Windows updates
Setting up basic system preferences
Connecting compatible printers and other devices
Installing commonly needed software
Helping you understand the basic operation of your new computer

We Set It Up Where You Use It

Setting up a new computer at home has advantages over simply taking it to a computer shop. We can work with your actual desk, monitor, Wi-Fi network, printer and other equipment.

This also allows us to identify connection or compatibility problems that may not become apparent until the computer is installed in your home.

Have an Older Computer?

If you are replacing an older computer, you may also need your personal files transferred to the new computer.

Small amounts of data transfer may be possible during a home appointment. Larger data transfers, extensive migrations and backup projects are generally better handled at our shop, where we have the equipment and time needed to perform the work properly.

For larger transfers, see our Data Services.

Already Have the Computer?

No problem. You can purchase your computer elsewhere and have us come to your home to set it up.

We can also help if you are deciding what computer to purchase. Our Computer Consultation service can provide guidance based on how you plan to use the computer.

New Computer Home Setup Pricing

$150 — in-home new computer setup.

Additional repairs, parts, extensive data transfers or other work outside the scope of the setup may require separate services or shop work. We will explain any additional charges before proceeding.

Priority Service Available

Need help sooner? Add Priority Service for $75. Priority Service moves your appointment to the front of our scheduling queue and provides an 8:00 AM appointment on the current or next available day, subject to technician availability.
